ClassLink Rostering Guide and Checklist ✅

Ready to get your users rostered via Classlink? Smooth setup requires sharing the right data! Please follow these instructions carefully.

⏳ Timeline: It generally takes about two weeks from when data is shared to complete rostering. Please plan accordingly!

Part 1: Required Data to Share via ClassLink ➡️

We need all the fields below. Please use the ClassLink Sanity Check feature after sharing to ensure there are no issues.

  • Grade level (for K-12 curricula)

  • Organization (school)

  • Students (with valid email, first/last name)

  • Teachers (with valid email, first/last name)

  • School Admins (valid email, first/last name - only share active admins)

  • District Admins (valid email, first/last name - only share active admins)

  • Course Start Date & End Date

  • Course

  • Classes

  • Period for each class

  • Primary Teacher for each class

  • Term (if rostering by term)

  • Included Terms


Part 2: ClassLink Sanity Check Results MUST Show Zeros For: 👇

  • 0 students without grades

  • 0 students without enrollments

  • 0 teachers without enrollments

  • 0 students without teachers

  • 0 classes without periods

  • 0 classes without students

  • 0 classes without teachers

  • 0 courses without classes (Tutorial on finding the Sanity Check Here)


Part 3: Default Settings & SSO ⚙️

  • We typically roster by term (fall/spring) and by curriculum.

  • We support SSO via Clever, ClassLink, and Schoology.
