  • Fewer Questions: 45 scored questions (down from 60).

  • Same Time: Still 60 minutes (so, slightly more time per question).

  • Greater Focus on Higher Math: Algebra, Functions, and Geometry are now more prominent (~17–20% each).

  • More Statistics & Probability: (~12–15%).

  • Less Emphasis on Essential Skills: Basic Algebra, Ratios, Percents (~20%).


Part 2: Essential Strategies for Success 🏆

  1. Work Efficiently:

    • Focus on one question at a time.

    • Skip hard problems and come back – get the easy points first!

    • Never leave a blank! Guess if needed (no penalty).

  2. Use Smart Problem-Solving:

    • Process of Elimination (POE): Cross out impossible answers.

    • Back-substitution: Plug answer choices into the problem.

    • Plugging in Numbers: Replace variables with simple numbers (like 2 or 3).

    • Estimation: Approximate first to rule out crazy answers.

    • Use a TI-83 or TI-84 if you have one (or the built-in online calculator).

    • Practice using it for fractions, graphing, and checking complex calculations!
