What is Bell-Ringer Mode?

Bell-Ringer Mode uses the exact same 3–5 multiple-choice questions found on the lesson’s Primary Worksheet. It's simply an alternative, teacher-led delivery method designed for:

  • Saving Class Time: Quickly reviewing content as students settle in.

  • Flexibility: Allowing you to pick and choose questions or do them all.

  • Discussion: Focusing on shared class discussion and immediate feedback.

No Time Constraints: Unlike the standard Group Activity, you control the pace.

How to Access and Launch Bell-Ringer Mode

Follow these simple steps to project the questions for your class:

🧭 Navigating the Platform

  1. Log in to ChalkTalk using your teacher account.

  2. Locate the Lesson of interest.

  3. Navigate to the Group Activity tab for that lesson.

  4. Select the Bell-Ringer Mode option.

  5. Project your screen on the board for the class to view.

πŸ“– Reading Passages

For questions with an accompanying reading passage, have students read as they are settling into their seats and while you take attendance.

πŸ€” Working on Questions

Work on the questions as a class. You may pick and choose: discuss each question individually or only review certain key questions.

βœ… Reviewing Answers

Choose to unveil and discuss the answer explanations by selecting Show Answers before moving onto the next question. This facilitates immediate learning and clarification.

⏱️ Duration

With only 3–5 questions, Bell-Ringer Mode is highly efficient, ensuring the warm-up takes up very little of your class time.
