Grades for Completion

Lesson Notes - We make it easy to use this feature as a completion grade. Simply mark the attendance button for any student who was present and engaged for a lesson, and you’ll get a percentage of lessons they’ve attended. We recommend setting note-taking expectations with students based on the lesson notes. A best practice would be to use the marker tool to highlight essential points, then set the expectation with students that “what I highlight, you write.”

Then, navigate to the attendance details tab on the dashboard to find that figure. We recommend recording a monthly cumulative grade. This will encourage students to be present during instruction.

Group Activity - The same rules above apply to the group activity. Simply mark the attendance button for any student who is present and engaged during the group activity. We recommend adding an expectation for students to jot down an answer explanation for each of their answer choices in the group activity.

Grades for Accuracy

Group Activity Worksheets - We recommend using the Group Activity Worksheets to grade for accuracy. The questions will be the same for all students. Since teachers preview the questions, rules, strategies, and answer explanations for each, they can expressly teach those skills before distributing the Group Activity worksheets for group or independent work.

Additionally, there is a primary and intervention worksheet for each lesson. Therefore, teachers can use one worksheet as a group/practice exercise and the second as a grade for accuracy.

Grades for Improvement

Adaptive, Independent Practice - These activities display the student’s skill level improvement after each. We recommend setting a semi-monthly goal for students to improve by at least 1 point on one or more skills. To improve their skill level, students must get an 80% or higher on a practice activity.

However, since the adaptive practice is adaptive, TEACHERS SHOULD NOT USE THE ADAPTIVE INDEPENDENT PRACTICE ACTIVITIES AS AN ACCURACY GRADE. This is because once a student moves into a new skill level, they will be challenged on the material they may not have seen yet. Remember, they are allowed to practice as often as they want and will never see the same questions.
