See below for ChalkTalk's Strategies & Tips pacing guide for the math portion of the ACT.

About

The purpose of this guide is to support teachers and students who want to focus on test taking tips, strategies and structures for the ACT. This is great for supplementary classes and bootcamp settings. The content in this guide can be finished in about 4-5 hours of class time. To learn more about this, visit our help desk article “ChalkTalk Pacing Guides”.

What Did We Include?

Our “Strategy & Tips” pacing guides cover ACT exam overview (scoring, question types, question counts), ACT test-taking strategies (plugging in, using calculator effectively), ACT content-specific unit summaries, and question structures (identifying the different types of questions that show up on the ACT).

How To Use?

One of the use cases of our ACT “Strategies & Tips” guide is for districts who are doing a full longer SAT course but would also like to prepare their students for an upcoming ACT. In that case, supplementing their ACT programming with just these 4-5 hours of ACT Strategies & Tips would be the most time efficient way to help them achieve their goals.

Key

Tips & Strategies: Use if you want to prioritize student understanding of the structure of the ACT, tips for taking the exam, strategies for answering multiple choice questions, and overall topic summaries.

Question Structures: Use if you want to prioritize prepping students for specific question types. These strategies are based on researched ACT question structures and include examples of the types of questions seen on the ACT exam. All question structure slides are located in the Study Hall tab of the designated lesson.
