Online and Offline Group Activity Explained

Offline Group Activity

You can find the offline version of the Group Activity - which we call Worksheets - in the Group Activity tab under the "Worksheets" drop-down as shown below, which are downloadable and printable for your convenience!

Note: Most Eureka Math and Illustrative Math Curricula lessons do not have an Online Group Activity. Therefore, the offline Worksheets will be the only option in that case.

Note: The Offline Group Activity questions match the Online Group Activity ones. However, the Intervention Worksheet can be used as additional practice for lessons with an Online Group Activity.

Refer to the screenshot below to see what the Group Activity tab will look like when the lesson does not have an Online Group Activity.

Online Group Activity

You now know that you may encounter some lessons with an Online Group Activity for your students to go through in small groups. Let's take a look step-by-step at how you can start, end, and review an Online Group Activity by following the steps and watching the video below:

  1. Click on Lessons tab > select the Subject > click on the Group Activity tab

  2. Place your students into different group sizes of 1 to 4 people per group, as you see fit

  3. You can drag and drop students to randomize their placement into groups

    1. You can also drag absent students and place them in the "Absent" section at the bottom of the page.

  4. After setting up the students into different groups, click on "Start Activity" to open up the activity for the students to begin.

  5. Students will then go through two different stages - the "Individual" stage and "Group" stage:

    1. Individual stage: Students will solve the question individually before seeing each other's answers in the group stage.

    2. Group stage: Once all students of the group complete the question, they will move on to the group phase, where they will see each other's answers and have to agree on a consensus answer. Students will not be able to move on before completing the question on their own.

  6. Once students are done, you may end the activity by clicking on "End Activity", which will end it for the students.

How to Review Group Activity Answers

Now that your students have completed the Group Activity either online or offline, you can go ahead and look over their answers with or without them. Let's take a look at how to review answers for each of those types:

Offline Group Activity Review

You can find the answers to the Worksheets (Offline Group Activity) in the Worksheets drop-down (Teachers Edition)

Online Group Activity Review

Now that your students have completed the Online Group Activity and you have ended the session for them, you may review the answers by clicking on "Review Answers", which will show the question, answer, and answer Explanation, as well as the students and groups who have answered the question correctly.
