Part 1: Your Main Dashboard Explained πŸš€

The ChalkTalk dashboard is a tool that enables you to visualize, analyze, and gain insights from your data. Here's a breakdown of its components:

  • Active Summary (Up Next): Stay organized! This feature automatically displays your upcoming lessons from your calendar, keeping you on track and rewarding you as you mark lessons complete.

  • Details (Practice, Scores, Attendance):

    • Practice Details: Your hub for managing Adaptive Practice. Review progress, assign new practice, and download skill-level reports.

    • Scores Details: Review student exam scores and Lexile Levels.

    • Attendance Details: A summary of student attendance for lessons and group activities.

Part 2: What is the Intervention Tab? πŸ€”

The Intervention Tab is your secret weapon! πŸ•΅οΈ It's a mini-report inside each lesson that shows you exactly how every student is doing on that specific topic. It helps you see who attended, how they did on the group activity, and what their skill level is, all in one place.

How to Get to the Intervention Tab:

  1. From the Dashboard, click on Lessons.

  2. Click on the Subject, then the Lesson you want to view.

  3. Click the "Intervention" tab at the top.

Part 3: What Does Each Column in the Intervention Tab Mean?

Here’s a breakdown of what you're looking at:

  • Name: The student's name.

  • Lesson: Shows if the student was marked "Present" or "Absent" for this lesson.

  • Group Activity (Individual): The student's score from the individual part of the Group Activity.

  • Group Activity (Group): The student's score from the group part of the Group Activity. (Use this to see who improved with discussion!)

  • Adaptive Practice: The student's total score for all Adaptive Practices completed for this lesson.

  • Skill Level: Shows the student's current Skill Level for this lesson.

    • If no practice is done, this level is based on the Placement Test.

    • If practice is done, this level is based on their last Adaptive Practice attempt.

  • Time on Task: How long the student spent on the Adaptive Practice.

  • Assign: This button lets you assign the Adaptive Practice to the student.

    • Note: Students can always access the practice, but clicking "Assign" sends them a notification and puts it on their dashboard as a to-do item. It's recommended for students with a skill level of 3 or lower.

Part 4: How to View Individual Practice Scores

The "Adaptive Practice" column shows a cumulative score. But what if a student took it 3 times? Here's how to see each attempt:

  1. In the Intervention tab, hover over the score in the "Adaptive Practice" column.

  2. If the student has multiple attempts, the score will be clickable.

  3. Click the score! A pop-up will appear showing the scores for each individual practice they've taken for that lesson. You can even click "Review Answers" to see their work.
