Part 1: 🧭 How to Find the Summative Assessment

To navigate to the Summative Assessment on ChalkTalk, follow these steps:

  1. Head to the Lessons tab by clicking on it from the left navigation bar.

  2. Select the unit that you would like to get to the Summative Assessment for.

  3. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the unit, and the Summative Assessment (labeled Unit Assessment) will be right after the last lesson.

Part 2: 🤔 What is the Summative Assessment?

At the end of each unit, you'll find a test to check how well students understand what they've learned.

  • What's in it? These tests cover different types of questions, like multiple-choice, short-answer, and more.

  • Grading: You can grade these tests in different ways—either in a standard manner or by having students explain their answers.

  • What's included? All test questions come with answers that match up with educational standards. Plus, you'll often find explanations for why students might make certain mistakes.

  • One thing to note: Unlike practice tests, these assessments don't tell students exactly how to solve the problems.

For longer units, there's also a mid-unit test that's similar to the end-of-unit one. The big end-of-unit test covers everything in the unit, with a focus on the second half.
