Streamlining User Rostering with Classlink for a Seamless ChalkTalk Experience

We are excited to roster your users onto ChalkTalk to enable a smooth login experience. To ensure we can roster all students, teachers, and admins smoothly and in a timely fashion, please follow the instructions below.

It generally takes about two weeks from the date when rostering information is shared to complete the rostering of users onto ChalkTalk. Please plan accordingly and share your data as soon as possible to avoid any delays.

We need all the required fields below shared from Classlink to create classes with teachers and avoid login issues. In Classlink, once the fields are shared, please use the Classlink Sanity Check feature to ensure there are no issues. Identifying any issues with the Classlink Sanity Check could potentially cause problems for students or teachers, leading to delays in completing the rostering process.

Data To Share for Classlink Sync

Required Data

  • Grade level (should be shared for K-12 curricula)

  • Only share the terms and classes that you want to be rostered by ChalkTalk

  • Organization (school)

  • Students with valid email addresses, first and last name

  • Teachers with valid email addresses, first and last name

  • School Admins with their valid email address, first name, and last name (only share admin accounts with us that intend to actively participate in the ChalkTalk implementation)

  • District Admins with their valid email address, first name, and last name (only share admin accounts with us that intend to actively participate in the ChalkTalk implementation)

  • Course Start Date

  • Course End Date

  • Course

  • Section

  • Period for each class

  • Primary Teacher for each class

  • Term (if rostering by term and not curriculum)

  • Included Terms

Classlink Sanity Check on Data Shared

  • 0 students without grades

  • 0 students without enrollments

  • 0 teachers without enrollments

  • 0 students without teachers

  • 0 classes without periods

  • 0 classes without students

  • 0 classes without teachers

  • 0 courses without classes

Once all of the required data is synced to us in Classlink or Clever, we need to learn more about how you want to configure your curriculum!

  1. We roster by term (fall and spring)

  2. We roster by curriculum
