In this article, you will learn how to unlock and pause ChalkTalk tests on testing days!
We will use the placement test as an example in this article but the information mentioned applies to the other tests as well.
Unlocking Test Sections:
By default, the test will be locked even on the day the test is scheduled. For students to be able to begin the test, you have to unlock it for them, section by section.
To unlock a test session, follow these steps:
Select the Tests tab.
Double-click on Placement Test (or the test you want to administer).
Select the Lock icon next to the section you want to unlock for your students. Then select Confirm from the pop-up.

Pausing Test Sections:
If you wish to close the testing session for your students, you can pause the test section.
Students will not lose their answers when you lock/pause the testing session. However, they will be kicked out from the test and you will need to unlock their test for them to be able to continue taking it. Read about the reset features here.
To pause a test section, follow these steps:
Select the Tests tab.
Double-click on Placement Test (or the test you want to administer).
Select the Pause Exam icon next to the section you want to lock (pause) for your students.
Select Confirm from the pop-up to get a confirmation message.
